OPUS4¶

OPUS4 is a German project originally developed between 1997/1998 at the University Library, Stuttgart. After forking (basically splitting the community and loosing the better half of it), development continues at KOBV since 2010. Being of German origin (originally even in the sources) it is quite popular amongst German universities, ie. the natural sourroundings of most of the JOIN2 partners. (RWTH actually ran on OPUS before migrating ot JOIN2.)

Many German institutions that used to run OPUS3 either migrated to OPUS4 as hosted service at KOBV or to dSpace.

arwagner added this software only for completeness given the JOIN2 sourroundings. OTOH he considers further investigation of it a complete waste of time. It's very orientation to Germany only, and some minor specialities that exist in said country. Together with the almost non-existing ressources on the project and reports on "limited happyness" of users, are his main reasons to rule out OPUS these days (while he was actually actively working on OPUS back in 3.x days.)
