Tasca #487

Subject: Re: Ex Libris' Primo Central and UAB
Dear Anne,
Please find below our answer to your message dated 29th April.
I am writing in regard to your submission of the RMIT Research Repository for inclusion in the Primo Central Index. As we process your records, I have a few questions for you:
a)As per the Identify command, I see that your deleted records are characterized as “persistent.” What is the mechanism by which you delete records? That is, how are they marked in the XML? (e.g., “delete,” “deleted,” etc.)
Currently our old deleted records are not marked as such via OAI; rather, these records are not published any more via OAI, and the OAI error code is "idDoesNotExist".
Thus, there is no way for those old records to know that they have been deleted. Hopefully we have not many of them. We haven't yet configured the new version of our software (Invenio) to mark them as deleted.
b)Please provide a list of all of the possible values for the tag <dc:type>.
The possible values (always preceeded by the prefix info:eu-repo/semantics/) are:
article

masterThesis
doctoralThesis

c)Does the collection contains peer-reviewed articles? Are there indicators in the records as to which articles are peer-reviewed?
Yes, the peer-reviewed articles are included in DDD collection: http://ddd.uab.cat/collection/artpub. For OAI collecting you should go to: artpubuab set (http://ddd.uab.cat/oai2d?verb=ListRecords&metadataPrefix=oai_dc&set=artpubuab)
The peer-reviwed articles are indicated as:
- acceptedVersion
- publishedVersion
d)Similarly, what percentage of the repository is “open access” (free)? Are there indicators in the records as to which articles are open access?
About 97% are open access (18,991 out of 19,705)
e)How frequently do you update the repository?
Daily
Thank you very much for waiting for our answer. Please do not hesitate to contact with us again if you need more information.
Yours faithfully,

- Estat ha canviat de Creada a Tancada
Ara ja sembla imminent que el DDD passi a formar part de la base de dades de Primo
Dear Cristina—
I did some investigating – because as far as I knew, we’d loaded your repository back in June 2013!
There seems to have been some confusion in that we have 2 repositories with very similar names”
Diposit Digital de Documents de la UAB (this is yours); and
Diposit Digital de Documents de Barcelona
I was hoping that the PCI-Open Access Collection List was wrong, but I believe your records were not indexed. I will make sure that they are included in our next round of indexing (at the beginning of February), and offer you my heartfelt apologies for the confusion.
Anne
