El document detalla les terminologies més utilitzades per professionals de l’avaluació d’impacte de la recerca, reconeixent que de vegades varien segons els països o les pràctiques. Així, combina la terminologia emprada en entorns anglosaxons (Regne Unit, Canadà i Austràlia) amb la pròpia de l’Europa continental —especialment dels Països Baixos— i, molt especialment, amb la de la Comissió Europea, clau per al context CERCA.

El projecte, liderat per David Phipps, president del panel d’experts que assessoren l’estratègia d’impacte de la recerca endegat per la I-CERCA (Research Impact Assessment Advisory Board – RIAAB en les seves sigles en anglès), ha comptat amb múltiples aportacions, en especial de la Dra. Paula Adam, directora del Lab de Recerca de l’AQUAS i s’ha completat amb un exercici de capacitació al personal responsable d’impacte dels centres, a càrrec de Julie Bayley, directora d’Impacte de la recerca a la Universitat de Lincoln.

L’avaluació de l’impacte ha esdevingut un criteri central en els principals sistemes internacionals de recerca —com el REF britànic— i és una prioritat en els darrers programes marc europeus. A Catalunya, la Llei de la Ciència recull el compromís de desplegar una estratègia integral d’impacte de la recerca, un camp en què CERCA ja forma i acompanya els centres des de fa anys.

OSMI and UNESCO conducted an international consultation to gather opinions from around the world to ensure that the Principles meet a variety of needs, approaches and contexts worldwide. In the past few months, the OSMI Initiators and the OSMI Coordination Committee have painstakingly integrated the feedback from more than 150 experts worldwide into the draft principles. We are now proud to announce the publication of the final internationally agreed upon version of the Principles of Open Science Monitoring.

The B17 conference report offers pragmatic steps to address the current challenges facing the scholarly communication community and charts what we can accomplish collectively, based on the following needs expressed by the community:

• full transparency in publishing agreements
• fairer pricing frameworks
• support of diverse publishing models
• utilizing CC BY licensing to preserve author rights and enable academic agency over scholarly outputs—particularly crucial as AI reshapes research communication
• addressing the implications of current research assessment practices on the dynamics of the scholarly publishing ecosystem
• the integration of open science principles into institutional strategies
• The consensus was clear: open access has passed the tipping point. The continued transformation of scholarly communication now depends on our collective ability to turn progress into practice. Until we meet at the next Berlin Conference, the OA2020 Initiative will prioritize these issues, drawing on the strength and expertise of our community to advance our shared goals.
